SERVICE ADVICE: FUEL SURCHARGE MONITORING
DOWNLOAD THIS SERVICE UPDATE HERE:
Given the current global environment and the ongoing instability affecting international energy markets, fuel pricing has become increasingly unpredictable. As Australia relies heavily on imported refined fuel, these global events are creating noticeable volatility in diesel prices at the bowser - note the number of vessels leaving the Persian Gulf below.

The illustration of the Australian Institute of Petroleum’s published national average Terminal Gate Price (TGP) provides a clear reflection of bowser price movement over the past seven months. The first three days of the working week in March saw the TGP return to the market norm established late last year. However, by late last week we saw prices rise sharply, increasing by more than $0.40 per litre at the bowser by Friday.

We remain committed to delivering our reliable and cost-effective freight services. As prices begin to escalate at the bowser, it will be necessary for us to review our diesel fuel surcharge accordingly. Our diesel fuel surcharge will therefore be reviewed at the end of each week commencing Friday 13 March, with the impact of the preceding week’s fuel price variation applied accordingly (up or down).
This approach allows us to respond fairly and transparently to movements in fuel pricing while ensuring we can continue providing the dependable service our customers expect. We appreciate your understanding during this period of uncertainty and thank you for your continued trust in DOT Express.
