SERVICE ADVICE QUEENSLAND: EX-TROPICAL CYCLONE KOJI

DOT Express has been closely monitoring potential flooding impacts that may affect central and North Queensland due to ex-Tropical Cyclone Koji after it crossed the north-east coast of Queensland around 10am local time on Sunday, weakening from a Category 1 cyclone to a tropical low pressure system as it moved over land.
Latest advice for the Bureau of Meteorology and our Federal and State Government Agencies indicates that during Sunday and overnight into Monday morning, the remnants of the cyclone continued to move inland across northern Queensland, bringing heavy rainfall and flooding. Incredible amounts of rain have fallen over the weekend, with the highest accumulations along the coast from Townsville to Rockhampton, and inland across the Central Highlands and Coalfields district.
As of 9am Monday AEST, a Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall remains in place for parts of north-east Queensland. Rivers have responded quickly to the rain, and numerous Flood Warnings remain ongoing, including a Major Flood Warning for the Connors and Isaac Rivers south of Mackay.
Our linehaul operations into Central and North Queensland are continuing, with some minor delays expected.
SERVICE ADVICE VICTORIA: MULTIPLE BUSHFIRES

Turning to Victoria and the current bushfire crisis that is occurring, Victorian fire authorities continue to battle 12 major uncontrolled blazes across the State, with total structural losses climbing past 350, with one person killed in the Longwood fire, near the central Victorian town of Seymour.
Advice received from our Agents is that there is expected to be some minor delays to regional areas for at least the next week due to limited access and some impacted road/bridge infrastructure. Access to major regional centres are currently minimally affected, however, there are a number of smaller remote towns that have been cut-off for the time being.
DOT Express will continue to monitor the unfolding situations in both Queensland and Victoria, whilst working hard to achieve our normal express freight service times. We shall communicate any disruption to services within the network to our customers and ensure that our Drivers’ safety and the safety of our Agents is not compromised in any way.
Should you have any queries, please do not hesitate to contact our team for more information.
